The more busy you are, the busier you get?

不知为什么,只要是我在华乐团值勤的那一天,工作一定特别多。
0730-0830:给中一学生上武侠小说课,选了《倚天屠龙记》六大门派攻打光明顶,张无忌与空性过招的精彩情节。
0830-0930:结束了中三普通学术的课本,同时开始复习课文词汇。
0930-1050:赶紧买了一盒炒米粉,回到会议室边吃边值勤,确保有足够老师监考母语考试,同时也上去礼堂做座位安排。
1050-1100:回到会议室,本想改完迟交的作文并输入分数,但时间根本不足。
1100-1220:回到礼堂监考,结束今天的母语考试。
1220-1240:把卷子拿回会议室,并且赶紧吃午餐。
1240-1300:处理纪律问题。
1300-1430:为中三普通学术学生进行补课。
1430-1500:'O' 水准英文口试监考官
1500-1730:终于回到办公桌,阅读兼清理电邮,整理一些文件。
1730-1816:结束华乐团练习,与职委谈谈时间分配。
1816-1910:搭巴士回到武吉巴督,买早点,拖着脚步回家。

怎一个累字了得!

Long Awaited Updates... Feast!

I know, many have been clamouring for an update in my blog, and it has been indeed a long time since my last update. I guess I will just post some stuff on today's happenings... and then recall past events in future updates.

A potluck feast had been planned today, and the theme was Traditional Dialect Cuisine. Attendance was good, a total of 14 people (spouses included) turned up for the event, namely

Now the menu (loosely translated):
1. Popiah (Hokkien) + Kueh Pie Tee (Peranakan)
2. Longevity Noodles (Henghua)
3. Fishball & Meat dumpling (Fuchow aka Foochow)
4. Beancurd skin soup - dessert (Cantonese)
5. Yam Paste aka "Or Ni" (Teochew)
6. Braised Pork Bun aka Kong Ba Bao (Hokkien)
7. Chicken Lemak (Peranakan)
8. Yam balls with assorted ingredients - Suan Pan Zi (Hakka)
9. Konyaku Jelly
10. Fruits
11. Chinese Tea, Ribena, Ice Apple Tea, Ice Green Tea

Needless to say, we all ate until we couldn't eat anymore, but the consensus was "Good Food"! Thus, I am contemplating the next session to be 1 for making jiaozi (soup dumpling from Northern China) or for making tangyuan (glutinous rice ball dumpling)!

After lunch, the group spilt into 2, with 7 of us playing the card games Saboteur and Citadels, enjoying ourselves till 6pm. Ah, time flies when you are occupied... before I end, I would like to offer our thanks to our parents who have been quietly supporting us, for without them, our potluck gathering would not have such a spread of dishes!

已经好久没有上网更新我的博客,也是时候写些东西,不然记忆将随风而逝……

今天好难得,安排了一个聚餐,而主题是上回所讨论的“籍贯传统菜肴”。值得庆幸的是大部分的人都很配合,而也有一共14人出席今天的聚餐。出席者包括数学老师、历史老师、华文老师、物理老师、化学老师、英文老师以及家属。今天的菜肴包括:

一、薄饼(福建)+Kueh Pie Tee (娘惹)
二、寿面(兴化)
三、福州鱼丸与燕皮(福州)
四、腐竹甜汤(广东甜品)
五、竽泥(潮州)
六、2种扣肉包(闷及腌+卤)(福建)
七、香辣鸡(娘惹)
八、算盘子(客家)
九、果冻
十、水果
十一、中国茶/利宾纳/苹果茶/绿茶

这么多美食在眼前,大家胃口大开,而且都吃得很撑。在饱食一顿之后,大家的评语是:“赞”!因此,我顿时萌生念头,建议大家在下一轮的聚餐一起做中国北方的饺子或一起撮汤圆来吃。

饭后我们分为2组,其中7位年轻人的娱性节目就是玩牌。(不是你们想象的扑克牌!)仅仅玩了4轮的牌,就玩到傍晚6点,也是大家告别的时候。这次的聚餐算是非常成功,但我们都得感谢在幕后默默支持我们的父母,因为没有他们,我们的聚餐也不会那么丰盛!
